In terms of mechanical properties, it offers a tensile strength of at least 80,000 psi (550 MPa), a yield strength of at least 35,000 psi (240 MPa), and an elongation of around 35%. The low carbon content helps avoid carbide precipitation, while the high levels of nickel and molybdenum enhance resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride and acidic conditions.
