SMO 254 is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel, featuring a chemical makeup of about 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, along with small amounts of nitrogen (0.2%) and copper (0.7%). This unique blend provides outstanding resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. SMO 254 Pipes boast a tensile strength of 650 MPa, yield strength of 300 MPa, and an elongation of 35%, with a hardness of around 210 HB. These mechanical properties, combined with high impact toughness, make SMO 254 an excellent choice for challenging environments like seawater and aggressive chemical processing.
