SMO 254 Tubing is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel that contains about 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, along with nitrogen additions. This distinctive composition provides remarkable resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking in environments rich in chlorides. Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of 650 MPa, yield strength of 300 MPa, and an elongation of 35%. With a hardness of around 210 HB, SMO 254 tubing is dependable under high mechanical and thermal stress, making it suitable for aggressive chemical and seawater applications that demand superior corrosion resistance.
